Flexible shipbuilding workforce

Production demand changes.
Your core workforce doesn't have to.

Shipbuilding workloads rise and fall through program ramp-ups, overlapping vessels and delivery peaks. MTS helps shipbuilders add experienced capability when it is needed, without building every production peak into the permanent workforce.

Exact brochure chart showing core workforce, MTS additional workforce, schedule, month labels, and the message Maintain your core workforce for everyday operations. Access experienced shipbuilding trades when you need them.

Protect the core workforce

Keep the permanent team focused on ongoing production and critical capability.

Fill production gaps

Add experienced shipbuilding trades when workload, schedule or specialist requirements increase.

Scale with the program

Increase or reduce supplementary labour as production requirements change.

The right capability, not just more people

Tell us what the work actually requires.

A vacancy title alone does not tell the full story. MTS focuses on the trade, material, process and shipbuilding experience required for the work.

1
Define the requirement
Trade, steel or aluminium, welding process, shipbuilding background, duration and shift requirements.
2
Match relevant experience
We target personnel whose previous vessel-construction experience aligns with the requirement.
3
Client testing and onboarding
Candidates remain subject to the client's site-specific weld testing, qualifications, inductions and onboarding requirements.

Welding & fabrication capability

For welding roles, MTS can target experienced shipbuilding personnel with backgrounds across processes and materials such as:

MMAWFCAW / Flux CoreAluminium MIGSteelAluminium

We do not treat every welder as interchangeable. The aim is to put forward candidates with relevant process and material experience, ready for the client's required weld test and qualification process.

For shipbuilders & marine companies

Tell us what capability you need.

Planning a production ramp-up, covering a workforce gap or expecting a short-term requirement? Submit a Workforce Requirement EOI and tell MTS the trades, experience and capability you may need. This is an expression of interest only and does not commit your company to an engagement.

Workforce Requirement EOI

Give us an early view of your expected requirement so we can identify suitable shipbuilding tradespeople and discuss availability with you.

This form registers an expected workforce requirement only. Availability, rates, candidate suitability, client-specific testing, qualifications and engagement terms are confirmed separately before placement.

For experienced shipbuilding trades

Join the MTS team.

If you have genuine shipbuilding or marine fabrication experience, register your interest with MTS. We are particularly interested in boilermakers, fabricators and welders with steel or aluminium vessel-construction backgrounds.

Expression of Interest

Tell us what you can do. The more specific you are about your shipbuilding background, materials, welding processes and aluminium welding experience, the better we can match you to suitable client requirements.

Submitting an EOI does not guarantee placement. Candidates may be required to complete client-specific weld tests, qualifications, medicals, inductions or other onboarding requirements before engagement.

Let's build what's next together

Where is your production constraint?

Tell us the capability you need — not simply the number of people. We can discuss the trade, material, process, experience and timeframe required.
